Christ-centered

The education offered at EXPLORE Learning is centered on Jesus. Our calling as educators is to integrate Scripture across the curriculum to build knowledge in the TRUTH. We will encourage our students to know and love God, serve and love others, and be a witness to the world.  We will be faithful and honor this calling by exalting Jesus and giving Him thanks in and out of the classroom.

Why a Microschool?

EXPLORE Learning is student-focused.  Our small classroom size allows us to build a learning environment that is responsive to our student's needs. Small class sizes maximize the educational experience by encouraging strong student engagement while building strong relationships among students and faculty.

The Case for Group: What the Research Says About NILD Group Educational Therapy

Educational Therapists believe in the power of one-on-one. The focused attention. The tailored mediation. The relationship built across a table, session after session.

So the idea of group therapy can feel like a compromise.

It isn't.

A peer-reviewed mixed-methods study by Dr. Constance Hope Cawthon and Dr. Joseph Maddox (read it here) compared outcomes for students receiving NILD educational therapy in individual settings versus small-group settings. Whether in a GET or IET setting, NILD educational therapy mediated by professionally certified therapists yielded improved academic skills with large effect sizes. Same intervention. Measurable results. More students reached. Read more here →

But what surprised researchers — and therapists — wasn't just the academic data. It was what happened in the room.

Therapists described a dynamic that individual sessions simply can't replicate: students challenging each other, defending answers, building processing speed through friendly competition, and developing language through peer mediation. One therapist put it simply: "Peer mediation was a built-in feature of GET that allowed it to be very different than IET."

It's the same methodology — in a setting that unlocks something new.
